TELUS is a Canadian telecommunications company that provides a wide range of communications products and services, including wireless, internet, TV, home phone, and business solutions. Founded in 1990, TELUS is one of the largest telecom companies in Canada, with operations across the country and an extensive network infrastructure.

As an in-house Senior Graphic Designer at TELUS, I was brought on to leverage my expertise in animation and illustration to create IAB-compliant HTML5 digital ads and support all areas of design. In this role, I drive the visual identity and marketing impact of TELUS and its affiliated brands by delivering innovative, strategic design solutions across multiple channels. My work includes crafting a variety of design assets, from digital display ads for web and social media to large-scale and small-format print materials.

Print Ads & Marketing Materials

I created several print collateral pieces while working at Telus, each designed to cater to a variety of audiences and messaging goals. From vibrant marketing brochures that highlighted the company’s cutting-edge technology to sleek, minimalistic posters for internal communications, each project required a balance of creativity, technical precision, and adherence to brand guidelines.

E-mail Campaigns

I worked on several email campaigns while working at TELUS, each tailored to drive engagement, promote services, and nurture customer relationships. These campaigns ranged from product launches and promotional offers to customer onboarding and loyalty initiatives.

These projects honed my skills in designing responsive templates and ensuring email content aligned with Telus’ brand voice. By analyzing performance metrics such as open rates and click-through rates, I continually optimized campaigns to achieve measurable results, contributing to the company’s overall marketing success.

Web Design / Landing Pages

I was tasked with designing a new landing page for TELUS Internet, aimed at showcasing the latest plans, features, and promotions while providing a seamless user experience that encouraged conversions. The project required a deep understanding of our target audience ranging from tech-savvy users seeking high-speed performance to families looking for reliable and secure internet for their homes.

The design process began with research and wireframing. I collaborated with the marketing and development teams to define key objectives, such as improving page load speed, emphasizing competitive advantages like faster upload/download speeds, and integrating customer testimonials. The layout needed to balance strong visuals with concise, impactful messaging. The call-to-action buttons were strategically placed throughout the page to guide users toward signing up, checking availability, or learning more about bundled packages. 

Once the page was live, I monitored performance metrics like bounce rates, time on page, and conversion rates. Using these insights, I implemented iterative updates to further refine the design, ensuring it met both user expectations and business goals. This project not only improved TELUS Internet’s online presence but also underscored the value of combining design aesthetics with functionality.
